바다위의 에덴은 ‘사파리가 될 운명을 부여받은 섬’의 근미래를 현재의 관점에서 상상해 보는 것을 골자로 한다. 영상은 무위자연을 꿈꾸며 섬에 자발적으로 고립된 노년 남성을 동물의 한 종(種)으로 바라보며, 욕망과 현실이 엉겨 붙은 기이한 세계 속으로 탐사를 시작한다. 녹이쓴 미래와 삐그덕거리는 3D이미지는 우리를 지리적, 신체적 애수와 아름다움으로 안내한다.

Eden at Sea centers on imagining the near future of an island “destined to become a safari,” viewed from the perspective of the present. The video observes an elderly man, who has voluntarily isolated himself on the island in pursuit of untouched nature, as one species among many—beginning an exploration into a strange world where desire and reality are entangled. A rusted future and creaking 3D imagery guide us through a landscape of geographic and bodily melancholy, and beauty.
