DORORI는 부안군 동중리 마을에서 2003년도에 사라진 ‘짐대하나씨(솟대 위의 새)’의 실종 사건과 그 후 18년간의 회귀 과정을 다룬다. 뉴스의 보도 내용, 기사에 달린 댓글, 마을 주민들의 증언, 이장님의 경험담, 문화재 애호가의 블로그 글, 박물관 학예사의 사견 사이에서 발견되는 앞뒤 맥락이 묘연한 진술들의 진실을 좇는다. 근거 없는 믿음과 부조리 안에서 찾게 되는 우연한 논리적 필연들은 또 다른 이야기 짓기의 가능성을 낳는다.

DORORI explores the disappearance of “Jimdae Hanassi” (the bird atop the sotdae) from Dongjung-ri village in Buan County in 2003, and the process of its cyclical return over the following 18 years. It follows the search for truth amid fragmented and ambiguous statements found in news reports, article comments, testimonies from villagers, the village head’s personal account, a cultural heritage enthusiast’s blog post, and the private opinions of a museum curator. Within the irrationality and baseless beliefs, the work uncovers accidental logical necessities—serendipitous connections that open up new possibilities for storytelling.
